Job summary

The role of the incumbent is to prepare and serve food for all positions. He / she must ensure that the dishes meet Sesame presentation and quality standards. He / she works closely with all staff to ensure that operations run smoothly during service.

Functions

  • Plans daily production
  • Performs the set-up according to the recipe book
  • Execute recipes according to the recipe book
  • Serves dishes quickly and respecting the presentation procedure
  • Respects hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Ensures the cleanliness of dishes, common areas and equipment
  • Train new employees according to Sesame standards

Secondary functions

  • Manage staff
  • Ensures the smooth running of operations
  • Ensures the cleanliness and order of his workstation as well as the equipment
  • Ensures the execution of the household list
  • Manage order rotation
  • Manages disposal of waste and recycling

Requirements

  • Knowledge of French (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of English (spoken) - If applicable
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in catering
  • Knowing how to manage priorities
  • Be result oriented
  • Be meticulous
  • Be independent
  • Be in good physical shape
  • Have good manual dexterity

Skills acquired after hiring

  • Knowledge of the cookbook
  • Knowledge of presentation standards for dishes
  • Know how to safely handle kitchen equipment (knife, fryers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, health and safety standards
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and their usefulness
  • Knowledge of dishwashers

Work context

Must be able to work standing most of the shift and occasionally seated. Must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a hot environment for extended periods of time. Must manage high stress depending on the time of year.
