Job summary

The role of the incumbent is to prepare and service all the stations while ensuring compliance with Sesame standards. He / she works closely with all staff to ensure that operations run smoothly during service.

Functions

  • Prepares the food used in the preparation of dishes (cutting vegetables, cooking, recipe, portion, etc.)
  • Prepare dishes quickly, making sure to meet presentation standards
  • Respect hygiene and sanitation standards, health and safety rules
  • Ensures the cleanliness and order of the workplace and equipment
  • Cleans kitchen and equipment
  • Use cleaning products

Secondary functions

  • Ensures the rotation of the orders
  • Directs recyclable items and waste to the appropriate dumpsters
  • Use the dishwashers if needed

Requirements

  • Knowledge of French (spoken)
  • Knowledge of English (spoken) - If applicable
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in catering
  • Knowing how to manage priorities
  • Be meticulous
  • Be independent
  • Be in good physical shape
  • Have good manual dexterity

Skills acquired after hiring

  • Knowledge of the cookbook
  • Knowledge of presentation standards for dishes
  • Know how to safely handle kitchen equipment (knife, fryers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of food portioning procedures
  • Knowledge of the household list, cleaning products and their procedures for use
  • Knowledge of dishwashers

Work context

Must be able to work standing the majority of the shift and sometimes seated. Must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a hot environment for extended periods of time. Must manage high stress depending on the time of year.
