Job summary

The incumbent is responsible for kitchen management, planning, employee coordination, food management, and food preparation and control. Functions

  • Is responsible for the smooth running of the operations of his department
  • Show leadership that enables accountability, engagement and efficiency of the kitchen team
  • Motivates employees to achieve Sesame performance and standards objectives
  • Manages the staffing process (recruitment, hiring, onboarding) of kitchen employees
  • Train new employees
  • Monitor employee performance
  • Prepare the work schedule on time
  • Ensures that working hours are respected
  • Effectively plans employees and his own time
  • Manages inventories and stock supply
  • Ensures the rotation of the orders
  • Teaches and ensures compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards and health and safety rules
  • Performs quality control of dishes
  • Ensures compliance with profitability ratios (food costs, labor costs)
  • Ensures employee compliance with Sesame policies and regulations
  • Takes the necessary disciplinary measures when applicable
  • Checks the conformity, cleanliness and good order of workplaces
  • Develops, implements and monitors action plans

Requirements

  • Knowledge of French (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of English (spoken and written) - If applicable
  • High school diploma or equivalence
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in catering
  • Be result oriented

  • Know how to use technologies (office suite, tablet, computers)
  • Knowing how to manage priorities
  • Be in good physical shape

  • Knowledge of food portioning procedures
  • Knowledge of the household list, cleaning products and their procedures for use

Work context

Must be able to work standing the majority of the shift and sometimes seated. Must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a hot environment for extended periods of time. Must manage high stress depending on the time of year. Must be available at all times.
